The Palmerston North Model Engineering Club Inc. was founded in 1977 and has around 80 members, ranging in age from 12 to 90 years.
Over half are active modellers in the fields of railway modelling, tool making, and other light engineering activities.
The rest are interested in the social aspects of the club. We have an active committee that promotes the club and keeps the meetings interesting and informative.
See the Event Calendar to check what the club is doing on the 4th Thursday each month and when the public running days are at Marriner Reserve Railway. Some of the members take their locomotives to other clubs around New Zealand to run on their tracks. The Event Calendar also shows the dates of open weekends that our members are likely to attend.
The club newsletter is The Generator. and is published monthly (except December). It is available electronically on this website and is published the third Thursday of each month, one week before our Club Night. It includes upcoming events and covers topics of interest to club members on a variety of subjects.
If you are interested in joining the club please complete the Online Membership Application Form.
You can also call at the station at Marrininer Reserve Railway, and fill out a membership application form.
Once completed a committee member will contact you within a few days.
The annual membership fees are modest at $30.00 for Adult and Family membership for
those residing at the same houshold or Junior membership for students.
There is also a one off $10.00 joining fee.
